Metin Bosnak

Metin Bosnak holds a BA in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the College of Education, Ondokuz Mayis University, Samsun, Turkey. As a Fulbright scholar, he completed his MA in Comparative Literature at Indiana University, Bloomington, USA, in 1990. Upon returning to Turkey, he earned his PhD in American Studies from Hacettepe University, Ankara, in 1996.

Dr Bosnak published a bilingual poetry collection titled Behind My Shadow in 1987. Since then, he has authored numerous academic articles in the fields of Comparative Literature and American Studies, and has presented papers at national and international conferences. He also co-edited two academic journals: Kizilirmak (1992) and Academia (1995).

He established and chaired several departments at Fatih University, including the Department of English Language and Literature (1997–2006), the Department of Foreign Languages (1998–1999), and the Department of American Studies (2000–2007).

As a visiting professor, he taught at the English Department of St. Louis Community College, Meramec Campus, Missouri, during the 2007–2008 and 2009–2010 academic years. He also lectured at Girne American University (2008–2009).

Dr Bosnak is affiliated with professional organisations including MLA, ACLA, ICLA, ASA, and MCCA. After spending seven years at the International University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, he is currently teaching in the English Department at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University.

His published works include: Behind My Shadow (1987), McDevlet, McDarbeler (2017), McStates, Democracy, McCoups (2021), Archetypal and Feminist Approaches to American Literature (2021), T.S. Eliot’s Poetics of Politics (2021), and Poetics of Love (Askin Poetikasi) (2021).
